Sacred Smoke Initiation ◎ Willka Sayri
This course will teach you the fundamentals of working with sacred smoke for personal use and in group settings. We will primarily focus on tobacco, where you will learn to commune with the plant for energetic clearings, spirtual protection, connection to source and its use as an oracle.
The classes will be taught by Maestro Alfredo, who has a deep connection with this plant rooted in Andean indigenous practices. Classes will begin in mid-February.

Tobacco is considered the most sacred of the indigenous medicines, used as a means to connect directly with the Creator. The tobacco plant has long been an important part of the cultures of the native peoples of the Americas, utilized for both medicinal and ritualistic purposes throughout history, with its origins traceable even back to the beginnings of humanity.
In each community, this plant is known by different names, reflecting the regional variations and cultural significance. In the Andes, for example, tobacco is referred to as Willka Sayri, believed to have originated in the highlands and subsequently spreading throughout the Andean region, with significant use in the Amazon.
In this course, we aim to explore the most important and sacred aspects of this ancient plant.
Although we will primarily focus on the essence of tobacco, it is not necessary to have tobacco on hand to work with sacred smoke. The course will serve as a guide for using sacred smoke, whether it be sage, palo santo, or incense, in a way that is intentional and supportive for your personal clearing practices, the opening of sacred spaces, and the clearing of others.
First Session: INTRODUCTION
In this session we will cover the basic aspects of working and communicating with sacred tobacco smoke, its history and benefits; as well as the importance of communing with it. In the same way, learn prayers that help us facilitate the connection with the sacred spirit of tobacco. Topics to discuss:
• Brief history of tobacco and its importance in the Andes
• Energetic and spiritual benefits of tobacco
• Ritual uses of tobacco
• How to establish communion with tobacco
• Sacred Prayers
Second Session: TOBACCO RITUALITY
In this session we will study the different uses of sacred tobacco smoke according to the healing work space. We will use sacred smoke as a means of communication with the different essences of nature. Topics to discuss:
• Opening and protection of space
• Clearing energy and detecting energetic conditions
• Reading and clearing another person's energy space
• Communication with the elements and tutelary spirits
Third Session: SIGNS AND OMENS
In this session we will learn to decode the infinite messages and signals that the sacred smoke of tobacco gives us, doing a thorough analysis of the forms, directions and concentration of the sacred smoke; Likewise, we will learn oracular space programming. Topics to discuss:
• Signs and omens, and how to recognize them
• Oracle with tobacco smoke
• Techniques on how to blow with tobacco
Fourth Session: COMMUNION WITH THE SACRED SMOKE
In this last session we will interact with the sacred fire and with the different types of sacred smoke such as palo santo, incense, sage, etc. Learning, in the same way, the different techniques to do cleansing, protection and blessings. Topics to discuss:
• Oracle of fire and smoke
• Protection prayer
• Cleanses and blessings with sacred smoke
Each session will be structured for one hour, with an additional 15 to 30 minutes for questions and answers at the end of each class. The course will begin in mid-February, featuring weekly evening classes. Classes will be hosted through zoom by Taita Alfredo, and will be recorded.
